Most of the time, we all put up with whatever shower head comes with the shower we buy or the house we move into. But sometimes enough is enough! 

Here are some of the features to look for:

Spray Patterns

Usually, better quality and better-made products will offer more than one spray pattern. You will find that quite often all the fairly decent handhelds have around 3-5 spray patterns. For me, as long as it has at least two, which is usually the standard “Rain” and “Jet”, I am happy.

I like the Jet pattern for cleaning things and rinsing the bathtub/shower area. For Triton’s 5 Position, for example, the 5 spray patterns included are Jet, Blast, Spray, Rain and Drench – which is more than enough.

Strong Water Flow/Pressure

This one seems obvious but some people are actually content with a small drizzle of water. To me and hopefully, to you the reader, a powerful water flow really makes it a good one – or at least helps it feel like it!

The factor that determines the “power” is the kW of your shower and with other shower types, this can be several other things. That said, the shower head can often convert a weaker pressure into a stronger release of water, providing a much stronger pressure or throughput.

Some kind of Warranty or Guarantee

Another fairly obvious one but still, definitely worth a mention. Typically ALL products, though obviously not disposable ones, offer some kind of warranty. But the length of the warranty may vary.
