Summary

Chances are if you reading this article, you are wanting to find out more about the Mira Decor Dual. As the name suggests it features two shower heads, a 90mm handheld shower head and a luxurious 200mm deluge. Being one of their mid-range showers, it is not as expensive but still competes on aesthetics, which is very important for an electric shower.

As with most good Mira showers, the Decor Dual comes with their famous Clearscale™, which was designed to lower the build-up of limescale by up to 50%, making it last a whole lot longer than regular showers.

As well as Clearscale™, The Mira Decor Dual comes with very simple power and temperature controls. Simply set your temperature settings with the dial and you won’t have to configure them again. You are also covered with a 2-year warranty for peace of mind.

Main Features

  • Our Rating: 8.6/10
  • Quiet running at just 15dB
  • Mira Clearscale™ technology reduces limescale up to 50%
  • High-end aesthetic for less
  • Simple controls
  • Easy to clean
  • 2 Year Warranty

Temperature Controls

On the Decor Dual, the temperature is configured via the dial, which you can “set and forget”. All you then have to do is turn on the shower using the push-button activation and you are good to go. Also, the clever diverter was designed to ensure that a stable temperature is maintained when you change between the handheld and the deluge. With that said, as this is a cheaper model, it does not come with things like phased shutdown, no maximum temperature factory setting, or Mira’s Sensi-flo™, which is designed to prevent scalding, so do keep this in mind when purchasing.

Power Consumption

With regard to power consumption, the Decor Dual range comes in two, kilowatt ratings: 8.5kW and 9.5kW. Both of them are ranked A in terms of energy efficiency, making the Mira Decor Dual very economical to use. They both have the same energy efficiency rating, here is the chart for the 8.5kW model, taken from the manufacturer’s (Mira) website.

Shower Heads

As mentioned earlier, this shower comes with two shower heads; a 90mm handheld one that has four spray patterns (Rain, Rain+, Burst and Storm), as well as a 200mm deluge, which can be placed practically anywhere overhead where it suits in shower or bathroom, thanks to its adjustable arm. To top this off both are rub-clean, making them very easy to clean and maintain.

Design

In terms of the design, this shower has a really nice look to it. As mentioned earlier, it is one of their lower to middle-range products and so therefore you are paying less but getting a luxury aesthetic. One thing you will find in most of the reviews is that people absolutely love how it looks.

The Mira Decor Dual has simple power controls, being activated with just a push of a button. So, if you have already configured your temperature settings you can just press the power button and enjoy.

Mira Clearscale™ Technology

As seen with all the decent Mira showers, the Mira Decor Dual also comes with Mira’s Clearscale™ technology, which should reduce limescale by up to 50%. This means that it will last longer and save you from having to replace it. Inside this electric shower, the coil has been designed in such a way that there are fewer areas for limescale to build up. In addition, the design of the coil also means that there is more space for water to flow, making it harder for limescale to build up. The rub-clean nozzles in their shower heads are also part of the Clearscale™ system too.

Warranty

The Decor Dual comes with a two year warranty, ensuring that it can be bought with confidence and peace of mind. It is important to note that the two-year warranty only covers domestic installations. For non-domestic installations, the Mira Decor Dual is covered for just one year.

Verdict: Should You Buy This Model?

So, should the Mira Decor Dual be your next shower upgrade? It looks great for the price, it’s less expensive, it runs very quietly at just 15dB, comes with two shower heads, and comes complete with a two-year warranty for peace of mind.

Where it doesn’t come up to scratch is the temperature settings. As discussed earlier, there is no max temperature setting, nor phased shutdown or any anti-scaled technology of any kind. These are the features you want in a shower, for safety purposes. With that said, you get what you pay for and if you go for a cheaper model it does, unfortunately, come with fewer features.

One of my personal favourite aspects of the Decor Dual is its design and quiet running. These are both very important to me as I prefer my shower to look great and also be relaxingly quiet. For a little less money, Mira also does this model with one shower head (though it is 110mm) called the Mira Decor, so you should definitely check that out if you would like to save a bit of money.
