Mira Decor
Summary
I have been looking at Mira electric showers recently and the Mira Decor range has impressed me quite a bit. Being one of Mira’s midrange electric showers it’s not too shabby. The Mira Decor is not as expensive as its higher-end showers but still competes on aesthetics.
As with most decent Mira showers, the Decor features their Clearscale™ technology, which is designed to reduce limescale by up to 50%, thereby ensuring it lasts a long time and is easier to clean.
As well as Clearscale™, The Mira Decor includes a large 110mm shower head, that offers four spray patterns to choose from, and has rub-clean nozzles for easy cleaning. The shower hose included is also rub-clean making this model extremely easy to maintain on a daily basis.
Main Features
- Our Rating: 8.6/10
- Quiet running at just 15dB
- Mira Clearscale™ technology reduces limescale up to 50%
- High-end aesthetic for less
- Simple controls
- Easy to clean
- 2 Year Warranty

Temperature Controls
On the Decor, the temperature is managed via a dial, which you can set once and then leave on your desired setting forever. All you have to do is press the power button and you are ready to go. As this is a cheaper model, it does not come with phased shutdown or Mira’s Sensi-flo™ technology, which is designed to prevent scalding, so do keep this in mind. Also, there is no maximum temperature factory setting.
Power Consumption
In terms of power consumption, the Decor series comes in two, kilowatt ratings: 8.5kW and 9.5kW. Both of them are ranked A in terms of energy efficiency, making the Mira Decor very economical to use. They both have the same energy efficiency rating, here is the chart for the 8.5kW model, taken from the manufacturer’s (Mira) website.

Shower Head
The shower head included is a 110mm handheld that has four spray actions to choose from: Rain, Rain+, Burst and Storm, though the Rain is the same as the “start” spray pattern. This showerhead has a rub-clean nozzle, making it very simple to clean and maintain.

Design
In terms of the design, this shower has a really nice look to it. As mentioned earlier, it is one of their lower to middle-range products and so therefore you are paying less but getting a luxury aesthetic. This shower comes in 3 colours; White, Warm Silver and Black Onyx, all with a premium chrome finish. The Mira Decor has simple power controls, being activated with just a push of a button. So, if you have already configured your temperature settings you can just press the power button and enjoy.
Mira Clearscale™ Technology
As seen with all the top Mira showers, the Mira Decor also comes with Mira’s Clearscale™ technology, which should reduce limescale by up to 50%. This means that it will last longer and save you from having to replace it. Inside the electric shower, the coil has been designed in such a way that there are fewer areas for limescale to build up. Also, the design of the coil also means that there is more space for water to flow, making it harder for limescale to settle. The rub-clean nozzles in their showerheads are also part of the Clearscale™ system.
Warranty
The Decor comes with a 2-year warranty, ensuring that it can be bought with confidence and peace of mind. It is important to note that the two-year warranty only covers domestic installations. For non-domestic installations, the Mira Decor is covered for just one year.

Verdict: Should You Buy The Mira Decor?
So, should the Mira Decor be your next shower upgrade? I think so. It looks great for the price, it’s less expensive, it runs very quietly at just 15dB and comes complete with a 2-year warranty for peace of mind.
Where it falls short is the temperature settings. As mentioned earlier, there is no max temperature setting, nor phased shutdown. These are the things you want in a shower for safety purposes. With that said, you get what you pay for and if you opt for a cheaper model it does, unfortunately, come with fewer features.
One of my favourite things about the Mira Decor is its aesthetic and quiet running. These are both very important to me as I want it to look good in my bathroom and also not be too noisy where it annoys me every morning! For a little extra money, Mira also does this model with two shower heads called the Mira Decor Dual, so definitely check that out.
