Summary

The Mira Azora Dual is one of the most exciting electric showers available on the market right now. Mira brought together simplicity and luxury when they made this product. It is fairly easy to install and will transform your bathroom. It boasts Mira’s Clearscale™ technology as well as having temperature control via a thermostat, making this shower both effective and efficient.

In addition to Clearscale™ technology, it also features Mira’s Sensi-flo™ technology, which is designed to prevent scalding from sudden surges of hot water. It’s finished in a sleek polished chrome and the fascia is frosted glass, which definitely beats the traditional plain white fascia that is all too common with electric showers.

To top this off, the Mira Azora Dual has two shower heads to choose from, the 90mm handheld shower and the 200mm deluge head. The 90mm handheld comes with different spray patterns, allowing you to design your perfect shower experience.

Temperature Controls

On the Azora Dual, the temperature is controlled via a Thermostatic SMA (Shape Memory Alloy). For some context, SMA is a material that is very sensitive to temperature and therefore as part of the thermostat, it can react rapidly to temperature changes. Electric showers that have thermostatic controls are able to maintain a stable temperature whether hot or cold, whilst also managing fluctuations in electrical and water supply, so having this feature is a great benefit.

Furthermore, this unit also benefits from Mira Sensi-flo™ technology which is designed to prevent scalding. Most electric showers have just a thermal trip mechanism that stops and starts the power. Hot water can collect inside the shower during this time meaning that the user will be scalded when the power comes back on. The Mira Sensi-flo™ works by detecting differences in the flow (e.g. a blockage or kink in the hose) and then stopping the water from being heated, in order to allow it to cool down as soon as possible.

Power Consumption

In terms of the power consumption rate, the Azora Dual has an electrical power rating of 9.8kW and is ranked A in terms of energy efficiency, making the Mira Azora Dual very economical to use. Furthermore, this shower outputs a low noise volume of just 15dB which is pretty good for an electric shower. Here is the energy efficiency chart, from the manufacturer’s website.

Showerheads

As the name suggests, the Mira Azora Dual has two showerheads to choose from. You can either use the 90mm handheld showerhead or you can use the above head 200mm deluge head. The handheld showerhead has four spray actions to choose from: start, soothe, force and eco, though the eco is the same as the “start” spray pattern. The overhead deluge can also be positioned however you want, thanks to it’s adjustable arm. Both showerheads have rub-clean nozzles, making them very easy to clean and maintain.

Design

With regard to the design, this electric shower is extremely contemporary and sophisticated looking while also being totally functional. The fascia is finished in frosted glass with the rest of the shower in a sleek polished chrome finish. The Azora Dual has very simple power controls, activated with just the push of a button. It also has separate temperature and power controls, making it a totally seamless experience.

Mira Clearscale™ Technology

The Mira Azora Dual also comes with Mira’s Clearscale™ technology, which is designed to reduce limescale by 50%, this means it will last longer and save you having to replace it. The way it works is, inside the electric shower the coil has been designed in such a way that there are fewer hotspots for limescale to build up. Also, the coils design also means that there is more space for water to flow, making it harder for limescale to settle. The rub-clean nozzles in their shower heads are also part of the Clearscale™ system.

Warranty

The product comes with a two-year warranty on purchase, in addition to the statutory right of return, ensuring that it can be bought with confidence and peace of mind. It is important to note that the two-year warranty only covers domestic installations. For non-domestic installations, the Mira Azora Dual is covered for one year.

Verdict: Should You Buy The Mira Azora Dual?

And that is the end of our review! So, is the Mira Azora Dual worth it? The answer is Yes – I do believe that this electric shower is well worth buying. At the end of the day, you’d go for this shower if you would like to add some luxury to your bathroom and that is exactly what you get with this shower. Not to mention all the great features it has too.

In some of the less positive customer reviews, one consumer claimed that they felt the showerhead and shower hose looked low quality. Many electric showers provide their standard showerhead and hose, with the focus being on the electric shower itself. Due to this, if you are someone who would rather have a better quality shower head and hose then definitely check out the links below. Also, they also do a cheaper version in the series called the Mira Azora.

One of my favourite things about the Mira Azora Dual is the temperature safety features. I have owned several electric showers, though not as good as this one, and have been scalded too many times! Knowing I can enjoy a shower without that potentially worry is calming!
